Feb Freezefest 5k

Yesterday I did my second race of the year. I also did this race for the first time last year. This year was much better, better weather, better time (2015-25:00 2016-24:46) so overall a great race. Also spreading the awareness of Epilepsy one race as at a time! Team Z wearing the purple!

Watch “Michael Jackson – Super Bowl (Complete Version) (HQ)” on YouTube

So, I have been lacking my updates, but getting back on schedule. Yesterday was the Super Bowl, and the halftime show was OK, but nothing will compare to this one.

Michael Jackson’s Jan 31st Super Bowl performance was awesome! At-first I wasn’t sure if I watched back in 1993, until the very end when all the kids join him on stage and the big World balloon went up I remember exactly sitting at home watching this. Great Performance, Great Talent, KING OF POP! RIP

Music Monday (Late Post)

Yesterday I forgot to post something for Music Monday. Well better late than never. Last week I was at the used book store and came across a few cassette tapes. So Big Betsy has a cassette player I decided to get a couple. This week I have been listening to this gem!

My Goal

Back in 2012 I had my hair the longest I have ever got. Total of 11 inches for a donation. It felt good to do, and that why I keep growing my hair out. This year last time it was measures I was currently at 8 inches. 10 inches is what’s needed to donate, my goal 15 inches before I donate again.

Now, everyone can agree cancer sucks, but when it happens to little kids that is just something that always makes me sad. Kids shouldn’t going through chemo, being in pain, losing their hair etc. They should be outside playing, reading or creating their own stories, coloring and overall enjoying life.

Ever since the first time I donated my hair, I decided every few years to regrow it out to donate. This year I have a small challenge, but might be hard to do. Kids going through chemo and losing their hair might be a scary time, might be something they don’t want to do. I have always wanted to find a little girl that due to cancer will be losing her hair. I’d love to pay to take her to a nice salon to have her hair cut right. Also at this time I would cut mine all the way off to donate as well. It would be a way of showing that if a wig would be needed I’m there to help. I just feel it would be a heart warming experience. My hope is that I would never have to do this, I wish cancer and diseases for little kids never happened. Whether this would become reality or not, I will always be growing and donating my hair. I know a lot of people don’t like long hair on guys, I like it on myself knowing that in the end it will go to a good cause.

Below is my before and after for my first donation, and will be excited to do again most likely in August.

Fun Fact Friday (Sort of…)

This week I was looking for a Fun Fact that had to do with Daddy/Daughters, as this weekend while the wife is out of town we will have a great Daddy Daughter weekend.  I was unable to find a fun fact, but did find this article.

http://www.buzzfeed.com/ariellecalderon/reasons-theres-no-bond-quite-like-a-father-daughter-relat#.ub9ePNLJe

In the article above, there are 29 points and here is my top favorite that I agree with. Most are  that will happen into the future and I can’t wait to do all of them.

2. He taught you how to ride your first bike.
6. Dad gave you kisses on your chubby cheeks because he couldn’t resist your cuteness.
7. And comforted you when you had trouble falling asleep.
11. Or dressing up in Marvel costumes.
23. He picked you up during the father-daughter dance at weddings.

It made me realize all the great times I have had with Stella over the past year and can’t wait for many many more!

Throwback Thursday

image

This year, I was excited when I saw who the Dolphins were playing. I was thinking, Hey looks like we will be in St Louis again to play the Rams. I was thinking my buddy Jordan would have to go to STL again. NOPE! The damn Rams had to make this the year to move back to LA. Oh well, the above photo of Jordan and I at our first NFL game. Dolphins won 16-12. This was back in 2008. It was a great game, we had lots of fans both Miami and St Louis digging the Braveheart Face paint style.
